Swimming Pool Shades Sharjah

Swimming Pool Shades Sharjah

Shade Structures Designed for Sharjah's Climate

Sharjah villa pools in Muwailih, Al Rahmaniya and the newer communities, and the residents' pools of Al Majaz and Al Khan towers, are within twenty minutes of the facility where our swimming pool shades are made — which is why a Sharjah pool can be surveyed one week and shaded the next. The structures shade the water surface to keep it swimmable through the summer day, reduce evaporation and chemical use, and make the deck a place to sit.

We design sail shades for villa pools and larger tensile canopies for shared residents' pools and school pools, in PVDF-coated membrane or HDPE knitted cloth depending on whether rain protection or breathability matters more, on galvanised steel with stainless fittings that resist chlorine and the coastal air. Drawings are prepared for Sharjah Municipality or the community where approval is needed, and our own crews install.

Sharjah Shade Solutions — Frequently Asked Questions

Will swimming pool shades cool the water in Sharjah?+

Shading a pool in Sharjah can reduce the water temperature by around 5-8°C in the hottest months, making it pleasant to swim in during the day. The cooling effect depends on how much of the water is shaded during the peak hours, so we design the shade around the sun's path over your garden. Shade also reduces evaporation and slows the loss of chlorine, which saves water and chemicals, and it protects swimmers from UV. For family villas in Al Nahda, Muwailih and Al Khan, we often combine sails over the pool with a shaded seating area, so children and adults can stay out of the sun between swims.

What is the best fabric for swimming pool shades?+

In Sharjah, knitted HDPE shade cloth is usually the best choice for pools. It blocks more than 95% of UV while letting hot air escape through the fabric, so the space underneath stays cool, and rain passes through rather than collecting. It comes in many colours and is the most economical option. For areas that must stay dry, such as a seating area or cabana beside the pool, a waterproof PVC or PVDF fabric can be used. Because our fabric stock is in Sajja, you can visit to see full-size samples, and lead times for pool shades in Sharjah are short.

Do the poles rust?+

Rust is not a problem with our pool shades. In Sharjah we use hot-dip galvanised steel or marine-grade 316 stainless steel for every pole, and stainless steel for all fixings, so splashing, chlorine and humidity do not cause corrosion. A powder coating in your chosen colour can be added over the galvanising to match the villa. The bases of the poles are detailed to shed water, because that is where corrosion would otherwise start. Rinsing the poles with fresh water from time to time keeps them looking good. Because we fabricate in Sajja, any repairs or additions later are quick to arrange.

Can the shades be taken down in winter?+

Yes. Our sails use turnbuckles and quick-release fittings, so they can be removed fairly easily in winter and put back in spring. Many Sharjah families take them down from late autumn to early spring to let the sun warm the pool, leaving the poles in place. We show you how to release and re-tension the sails at handover, and our Sajja-based team can also do it for you as a seasonal service, which is quick to arrange in Sharjah. Store the sails clean and dry, out of direct sun, and make sure they are re-tensioned correctly when they go back up, so they do not flap and wear.
