What's the difference between a Pyramid/Marquee Tent and a frame tent?
A Pyramid/Marquee Tent uses a centre pole to create its classic peaked roofline, the traditional look most associated with wedding and garden marquees. A frame tent instead uses a rigid perimeter frame with no centre pole, which gives a completely open interior with no obstructions. Both are available from Dhilal Al Qamar, and our team can recommend which suits your venue and guest layout. The centre pole of a marquee sets the height and the peak of the roof, so the structure is simple and quick to erect, and the pole can be dressed with fabric, flowers or lighting to become part of the décor. A frame tent is better where every square metre of floor must be usable, for example for a dance floor, a stage or a tightly planned seating layout, or where the tent must stand on a hard surface that cannot take stakes. Can multiple Pyramid/Marquee Tents be joined together for a larger event?
Yes. Individual bays connect using the Fiesta Frame Tent linking system, so several 6′, 9′ or 10′ wide units can be combined into one continuous covered area. This lets the same tent family scale from an intimate garden gathering to a larger wedding or corporate event. Joined units keep the peaked roofline across the whole structure, which gives a larger marquee an attractive, rhythmic look, and gutters between the bays keep the connected space dry. Because the layout is modular, the covered area can follow the shape of a garden or courtyard rather than needing one large rectangle, and separate zones can be created for dining, a bar, a stage or a lounge. When planning a larger event, we work from the guest numbers, the seating style and the catering and access requirements to recommend the number and arrangement of units, and we check the ground for anchoring before the layout is confirmed.
Are Pyramid/Marquee Tents suitable for outdoor events in the UAE climate?
Yes. The vinyl-laminated polyester fabric is fire-resistant and durable enough for repeated setup, takedown and outdoor exposure. As with any centre-pole tent, the ground conditions and the anchoring at the base of the pole matter for stability in wind, so our installation team assesses the site and anchors the tent accordingly before each event. The peaked roof sheds rain and sand quickly, and the height at the centre lets warm air rise away from guests. For daytime events in the warmer months, we recommend side walls that can be opened for airflow, or air-conditioning for an enclosed marquee, and we can advise on timing and orientation to keep guests comfortable. In the cooler months from October to April, marquees are ideal for garden weddings, Ramadan and Eid gatherings, and corporate events. We check the weather forecast before installation and secure the tent to the conditions expected on the day.
