K-Span Roofing Systems Al Ain

K-Span Roofing Systems Al Ain

Shade Structures Designed for Al Ain's Climate

Al Ain's farms, stables, agricultural stores and the industrial area on the city's edge are where K-Span roofing is most useful: a curved, self-supporting steel roof roll-formed on site to span a livestock shelter, a feed store, a workshop or a fleet yard without purlins, trusses or internal columns, in a climate hotter and dustier than the coast but free of salt air. There is no fabric to age in the sun, and the galvanised steel roof reflects heat away from what it covers.

Schools, sports halls, university facilities and the covered car parks of government compounds use the same system across the city. Our mobile roll-forming machine and crew travel from Sharjah, the panels are formed on site to the exact span so the erection is fast, and the structure is engineered and drawn for the Al Ain municipal authority where approval is required.

Al Ain Shade Solutions — Frequently Asked Questions

How fast is the installation of k-span roofing systems in Al Ain?+

K-Span panels are roll-formed from steel coil and seamed on site, so the roof goes up quickly: once the foundations or walls are ready, we can typically erect up to 1,000 square metres of roofing in a few days. In Al Ain, K-Span is popular for warehouses and workshops in the industrial areas, agricultural buildings and animal shelters on farms, and covered storage for equipment and vehicles. Our crew and roll-forming equipment travel from Sharjah on planned Al Ain project days. The programme also includes foundations and any municipality approvals, which we plan from the start.

Is a K-Span roof completely waterproof?+

Yes. The panels are joined by an automated seaming machine into a continuous, watertight surface with no bolts through the seams, so there are almost no points where water can enter. Al Ain's rain is rare but can be heavy, and the arch profile sheds it quickly. The seamed roof also keeps out dust, which matters in Al Ain's dusty conditions, particularly for storage buildings. The gable ends can be closed with cladding, doors or ventilation louvres, depending on the building's use.

Can it be insulated?+

Yes, and in Al Ain insulation is strongly recommended. We apply closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation to the underside of the roof, which gives excellent thermal resistance against the city's extreme summer heat. An uninsulated steel roof in Al Ain radiates a great deal of heat into the building; with insulation, interior temperatures fall substantially, making warehouses, workshops and animal shelters far more usable and cutting air-conditioning costs. We recommend a generous thickness for Al Ain's conditions.

What is the maximum span without columns?+

Clear spans of up to 35 metres are possible in Al Ain, depending on the steel gauge and arch profile. In Al Ain, that column-free space suits warehouses, workshops, farm buildings and covered yards, where vehicles, machinery and animals need to move freely. The achievable span depends on the building's width and height, the site's wind load and any equipment suspended from the roof. Larger buildings can be formed by joining spans side by side. We design each building for its site and use.
